Added to this the fact that we keep great real ales always six -some from our own microbrewery- and serve food lunchtimes and evenings every day of the year except Christmas day.

Here is a regular -Andy Jone's-  favourite local cycle ride:

Head out of Clun on the A488 north, take first left to Bicton. Take first left to Whitcott Keysett, turn right to the Mardu. First right then right again, Three Gates, left up Skeltons Bank to Two Crosses, five-way crossroads second left, travel for a mile, bear right, road runs out after 1/4mile. Byway (gated) the Kerry Ridgeway is a rough route is passable on a touring bike, 2 miles long. At Pantglas turn right, 2miles to Bishops Moat, signposted to Bishops Castle, 2nd right leads to Bishops Castle (you find yourself by the church) straight on to the school. At crossroads go straight ahead onto the B4385, take the second right to Brockton South, travel up lower down and right into Bury Ditches car park. Follow the path to the right in the car park. It leads uphill to the Ditches gate, path splits here you want the straight path. Continue to the top of the Ditches (they are well worth viewing). Follow path over the top of the Ditches heading west. The paths are way-marked, Remember the top is not a bridleway. At gate follow path, at "T" junction turn left. Head downwards to the main forest track and turn right, after 1/4 of a mile turn left finger post marked Clun. Remember the gates. The road returns to Guilden Down. Working farm please be careful. Follow the road down into Clun.
